OK Autrod 5183 is an AlMg4.5Mn-type aluminum alloy MIG welding wire. The weld metal strength is higher than with the conventional 5356 alloy and it better meets the strength requirements of aluminum alloy 5083 (AlMg4.5Mn), which is why it is particularly recommended for shipbuilding applications for welding these alloys. The filler metal is not recommended for applications above 65°C due to the risk of stress corrosion cracking. Not heat treatable.
