Extech SL130W Sound Level Monitor for continuous sound level monitoring. The SL130W Sound Level Monitor alerts when the sound level exceeds or falls below the set threshold. Ideal for monitoring sound levels in industrial environments, hospitals, auditoriums, schools, restaurants, and other spaces where it is necessary to ensure that set noise levels are not exceeded or fallen below. Bright flashing red or green LEDs alert the user when the sound level is exceeded or fallen below. LED indicator lights are readable up to 30 meters away. Wall, desk, or tripod mounting, with a 5-meter microphone extension cable available for remote monitoring. Fast/slow response time, measurement range 30 dB - 130 dB. Meets ANSI and EN 60651 Class 2 measurement accuracy requirements.
Usage: The SL130W can be programmed to alert with flashing red LEDs when the sound level exceeds the set "LO" threshold, for example allowing restaurant staff to adjust background music to a quieter level. Green LEDs can simultaneously indicate an acceptable sound level. The color alerts can also be reversed; for instance, in situations where it is necessary to ensure the speaker's voice is audible to the audience, the SL130W can be programmed to alert with flashing red LEDs when the sound level falls below the threshold, indicating that the audience cannot hear the speaker.
