The valve features a rotating slider, which enables it to withstand higher pressure differentials and reduces the risk of sticking during prolonged periods of inactivity. This makes it particularly suitable for heat pump applications where long pauses may occur between slider movements during the warm season. A status light on the top of the motor indicates which port is open.

When a plastic adapter 066177 is installed between the valve body and the motor, the motor is protected against condensate water, frost, and high temperatures. The switching valve must not be installed with the motor positioned below the valve body.

In the event of a power failure, the valve slider remains in its current position. In the de-energized state, the valve slider can be manually set to the mid-position, which divides the flow between the heating and domestic hot water circuits. Disconnect the motor and rotate the slider approximately 30°, or until warm water flows through both ports of the valve. Upon restoration of power, the valve slider returns to its original position and the motor is reinstalled.
