SMU S is a cast iron piping system for removing water from buildings. The drainage pipes and pipe fittings of the system are manufactured and approved in accordance with the European standard EN 877. The pipes are silent, and their acoustic properties have been tested in accordance with standard EN 14366. The pipes are also fire-safe and classified into the highest possible European A1 fire class. In addition, the pipes withstand heat and cold well, and their low thermal expansion is comparable to that of concrete.
Attaching the pipes to concrete structures is problem-free. They are manufactured from 99% recycled iron and remain 100% recyclable. The inner surfaces of SMU S pipes are treated with a 130 µm thick special epoxy coating.
