The SUD12 control unit can be used for two different functions: 1-10 V output

• This function allows control of HF ballasts and transformers with a 1-10 volt input, max. 40 mA, using a universal dimmer: EUD12D or MFZ12PMD.
• These dimmers are controlled by a spring-return switch connected to a common voltage input, either locally or centrally controlled. SUD12 converts the dimmer button signal from terminals Y1/Y2 into an analog 1-10 volt signal at output 0/Q1.
• It switches on the electronic ballast or transformer connected to the EVG output via a bistable relay.
• Zero-crossing switching to reduce load stress.
• The switching capacity for fluorescent lamp loads and low-voltage halogen lamp loads with electronic ballasts is at most 600 VA.
• Using the bistable relay function avoids problems during voltage interruptions and heat generation even when in the ON state.
• After installation, wait until the short automatic synchronization ends before connecting loads to the mains.
• A directly dimmable lamp can also be connected to the dimmer EUD12D.
• In addition, the load of dimmers EUD12D and MFZ12PMD can be extended using the power unit LUD12 for directly dimmable lamps.

1-10 V input

• In this function, the 1–10 volt signal from the control unit terminals A1/0 is converted into a constant dimming signal when connected to the power unit LUD12 terminals X1/X2. The switching function is implemented externally via the L connection of SUD12.
• The LUD12 rotary switch must be set to "multiple lamp mode".
• Multiple LUD12 power units can be connected to SUD12 according to the LUD12 operating instructions in the "power boost in multiple groups" mode. A 100 kOhm potentiometer can be connected to the signal input A1/0 for light control. Through input A1/0, the dimmer LUD12 switches the light to full brightness.
