The motion detector is used for automatic on/off control and fixed light level adjustment of longitudinal corridor and entrance areas based on light level and movement. Up to 10 detectors can be connected as slaves to extend the detection area using EER5xx detectors as sub-detectors.

Automatic and semi-automatic operating modes can be activated using a dedicated remote control. The detection area at an installation height of 3 m is approximately 30 x 5 m for transverse movement and approximately 14 x 5 m for movement directed toward the detector. The detection area can be limited using masking tapes supplied with the detector. The light shutoff delay is adjustable between 5 s and 60 min. Alternatively, the detector can be used for pulse-type control upon detecting movement.
