Ground Source Heat

Ground source heat is solar energy stored in the ground and water bodies. A ground source heat pump collects this renewable energy for applications such as building heating and cooling, as well as domestic hot water heating. In a ground source heat system, heat is collected from rock, lake, or soil at a depth of about two meters using a ground loop, through which a circulating fluid transfers thermal energy to the heat pump.

The NIBE S1155 is a new ground source heat pump in the S-series, offering increased convenience and safety for users. The device can be easily connected to the internet thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi and can be controlled via an intuitive and clear touch display or the myUplink service, for example, from a smartphone. The automation controls the heating system for both home heating and domestic hot water. Optionally, the device can take weather forecast data into account. To optimize savings, you can activate Smart Price Adaptation for electricity market control. The NIBE S1155 is an inverter ground source heat pump, meaning it adapts to the home’s energy demand and achieves an optimal seasonal performance factor. The S1155 does not have a built-in storage tank; instead, a separate tank can be selected according to usage needs. Its low profile also makes it suitable for lower spaces.

Controlling the NIBE heat pump with the myUplink app

Thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi, the heating system can be conveniently controlled via smartphone or tablet using NIBE’s own myUplink app. This allows you to quickly and easily obtain a real-time overview of the heat pump system’s operation. The basic level of the app enables monitoring of the pump system, while the Premium level allows remote control.

NIBE Smart Price Adaptation is an intelligent feature of the heat pump system designed to reduce electricity bills. The heat pump receives hourly electricity prices from the Nord Pool Spot market for the following day via the myUplink app. The heating system then optimizes heating based on this information.
