Charging stations are wall-mounted electrical units designed to meet the requirements and specifications of charging station standards. Temperature management is particularly critical in electric vehicle charging, so UTU charging stations always feature component-specific ventilation gaps and field-specific ventilation. The enclosure rating is IP31 due to the ventilated structure, which can be upgraded to IP34 by installing a protective cabinet (suitable protective cabinet LKS1090 no. 3426358). Charging Station Ahma LK16224X Features
  • Rated current 160A (selectable 100A / 125A / 160A)
  • Outputs: 24x MCN320E (Hager circuit breaker C-curve 20A, 3-pole)
  • Input: Compact breaker HHT160DR with mounting rail (Hager H3+)
  • Network analyzer with ModBus communication (Circutor CVM-C11)
  • Input connectors HYT005H (Al/Cu 50-185mm˛)
  • Charging outputs: Al/Cu terminal connectors 2.5-35mm˛
Temperature Management

In electric vehicle charging, the output components of the station often operate near their rated current, making temperature management critically important for the station’s lifespan.

The station incorporates temperature management requirements suited to charging load:
  • Field-specific ventilation
  • Air gaps in charging outputs
  • Thermal emergency shutdown function

Charging output balancing factor 1 (as required by the charging station standard).

The station features DIN-rail mounting for sensors, enabling readiness for dynamic temperature management. When connected to an eParking backend system, the charging station can dynamically control charging load based on the temperature of output components.

Lifecycle Management

The station includes a dedicated device space for load management devices. This device space is a general-purpose area suitable for installing any device. The space reserves room for an eTolppa system load management device (eG) to support multi-level load management. When the eTolppa load management device is installed in the station, no separate connection device is required at charging points.

If the thermal emergency shutdown function repeatedly interrupts power supply during the station’s lifecycle, it is advisable to implement dynamic temperature management. In this mode, the backend system can continuously limit charging station loads based on the temperature of output components.

The station includes space reserved for a harmonic filter. The network analyzer can monitor the development of harmonic distortions, and a harmonic filter can be easily added to the station afterward. Alerts related to this can be configured on the analyzer.

The station also includes a separate space for spare outputs. The spare output space comes standard with 3x C10 and 2x C16 (1-pole) circuit breakers as backup (for other electrical needs). Spare outputs are not wired to busbars.
