In electric vehicle charging, the output components of the station often operate near their rated current, making temperature management critically important for the station’s lifespan.
The station incorporates temperature management requirements suited to charging load:- Field-specific ventilation
- Air gaps in charging outputs
- Thermal emergency shutdown function
Charging output balancing factor 1 (as required by the charging station standard).
The station features DIN-rail mounting for sensors, enabling readiness for dynamic temperature management. When connected to an eParking backend system, the charging station can dynamically control charging load based on the temperature of output components.
Lifecycle ManagementThe station includes a dedicated device compartment for load management devices. This device compartment is a general-purpose space that can accommodate any device. It has reserved space for the eTolppa system load management device (eG) to support multi-level load management. When the eTolppa load management device is installed in the station, no separate connection device is required at charging points.
If the thermal emergency shutdown function repeatedly interrupts power supply during the station’s lifecycle, it is advisable to implement dynamic temperature management. In this mode, the backend system can continuously limit charging station loads based on the temperature of output components.
The station includes reserved space for a harmonic filter. The network analyzer can monitor the development of harmonic distortions, and a harmonic filter can be easily added later. Alerts can be configured on the analyzer for this purpose.
The station also features a separate compartment for spare outputs. The spare output compartment includes standard spare circuit breakers: 3 x C10 and 2 x C16 (1-pole) (for additional electrical needs). Spare outputs are not pre-wired to busbars.
