Charging stations are wall-mounted electrical units designed to meet the requirements and specifications of charging station standards. Temperature management is particularly critical in electric vehicle charging, so UTU charging stations always feature component-specific ventilation gaps and field-specific ventilation. The enclosure rating is IP31 due to the ventilated structure, which can be upgraded to IP34 by installing a protective cabinet (suitable protective cabinet LKS890, order no. 3426356). Charging Station Ahma LK25612X Features
  • Rated current 250A (available in 160A / 200A / 250A)
  • Outputs: 12x MCN363E (Hager circuit breaker C-curve 63A, 3-pole)
  • Input: Compact breaker HNJ250DR with busbar mounting (Hager H3+)
  • Network analyzer with ModBus communication (Circutor CVM-C11)
  • Input connectors HYW007H (Al/Cu 2x35-300mm˛)
  • Charging outputs: Al/Cu terminal connectors 2.5-35mm˛
Temperature Management

In electric vehicle charging, the output components of the station often operate near their rated current, making temperature management critical for the station’s service life.

The station incorporates temperature management requirements suited to charging load:
  • Field-specific ventilation
  • Air gaps in charging outputs
  • Thermal emergency shutdown function

Charging output balancing factor 1 (as required by the charging station standard).

The station features DIN rail mounting for sensors, enabling readiness for dynamic temperature management. When connected to an eParking backend system, the charging station can dynamically control charging load based on the temperature of output components.

Service Life Management

The station includes reserved space for load management devices. Load management space is a general device compartment suitable for installing any device. Reserved space is allocated for the eTolppa system load management device (eG) for multi-level load management. When the eTolppa load management device is installed in the station, no separate connection device is required at charging stations.

If the thermal emergency shutdown function repeatedly interrupts power supply during the station’s service life, it is advisable to implement dynamic temperature management. In this mode, the backend system can continuously limit charging station loads based on the temperature of output components.

The station includes reserved space for a harmonic filter. The network analyzer can monitor the development of harmonic distortions, and a harmonic filter can be easily added later. Alarms related to this can be configured on the analyzer.

The station also includes a separate compartment for spare outputs. The spare output compartment is standardly equipped with 3x C10 and 2x C16 (1-pole) circuit breakers (for other electrical needs). Spare outputs are not wired to busbars.
