PL18-33M12F is a compact probe (pipeline transmitter) that serves as an effective accessory for the Vesalan CL43 small locator and other manufacturers' 33kHz cable locators, such as 3M Dynatel®, Radiodetection CAT®, C-Scope®.

The probe is attached to the push rod either by screwing it onto the rod's M12 thread or by taping it to the side of the rod, after which the probe is pushed into the pipe, channel, sewer, etc. If the probe encounters an obstruction, such as a blockage, its location and depth can be determined from the surface using the locator's receiver. Accurate location of the fault simplifies repair work and reduces unnecessary digging.

A version with an M10 male thread, PL18-33M10M, is also available. The PL18-33M12F can also be attached to rods equipped with M5/M10 or M6/M10 threads using the optional PL-MSA5 or PL-MSA6 adapters. An optional PL18-FM flexible spring clamp is available for M12 and M6 push rods.
